The Williamsburg Workroom

A little piece of history, made for the handwork of today.

The Williamsburg Workroom is a love letter to old-fashioned handwork and the places that keep it alive. The centerpiece of this special bag is a beautiful Colonial Williamsburg toile—a 100% hand-loomed cotton jacquard I brought home from a summer visit to Williamsburg, Virginia.

Rich colonial blue and warm cream are paired with a deep red accent, finished with petite handmade piping tucked just beneath for that extra bit of detail that makes handmade goods so special. A coordinating blue floral crowns the bag, while a red zipper and handmade zipper pull—finished with a tiny American flag charm—bring the whole piece together.

Inside, she’s fully lined in warm cream cotton and includes a red, white, and blue tab with rings for keeping a thread keep or other stitching notions close at hand.

Made one at a time in the Heritage Cabin Co. workroom, The Williamsburg Workroom carries a little bit of where we’ve been into the things we’re still making today.
